Medical Concerns Regarding Dental Care

Any patient with a medical condition that requires medical clearance or further consultation will be given a referral to their physician. Examples of such conditions or situations include but are not limited to:

  • Recent Heart Attack or Stroke

  • Congenital Heart Disease

  • Rheumatic Heart Disease/Fever

  • Mitral Valve Prolapse

  • Shunt or Kidney Disease

  • Prosthesis/Artificial Joints

  • Prosthesis/Artificial Heart Valves

  • Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure

  • Uncontrolled Diabetes 

  • Bleeding Disorders

  • Compromised immune systems

  • Patients currently receiving cancer treatment
