STAY SAFE ON GCSC CAMPUSES
Your safety and security is a high priority at Gulf Coast! You should always be aware of what to do in a campus emergency and keep your campus safe. Take a minute to familiarize yourself with specific safety procedures or security information for that campus.
BE PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY
Emergencies can happen at any time and it is important to always be prepared. To find out what you can do to ensure your safety in the event of an emergency, you can review the safety tips located on the Campus Safety webpage. You can also view an active shooter prevention training video. IN A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY, DIAL 911.
Report Unusual Activities
If you are on the Panama City Campus and see something unusual, report it to the campus police department of campus safety as soon as possible. On any other campus, call the local police department. Gulf Coast State College works with local police or military police to ensure your safety and the safety of campus. Below are the phone numbers to the appropriate authorities that you may add the appropriate police number to your contacts so you will have it handy the event of an emergency. You will receive safety advisories along with information on upcoming events, just enter your contact information and choose which groups can send you advisories. If your contact information changes or your change mobile phone carriers, remember to update your information so you will always be informed of what's happening around campus.
You will also receive email alerts through the email that you’ve registered with Gulf Coast State College. This is probably your campus email address.
Campus security personnel will use building PA systems and loudspeakers outside to make safety announcements and tell you what to do next.

Gulf Coast’s Radio Station, WKGC, will deliver emergency messages and updates if the situation persists.
Florida is susceptible to weather-related events that range from thunderstorms and tornadoes to Category 5 hurricanes. If these weather events escalate to the point of an emergency, Gulf Coast State College will notify you with instructions using one of the methods detailed above. Have you had personal property stolen, been harassed by someone on campus or threatened by a friend or family member? These are examples of personal safety and security issues that are important to us, but are not likely to threaten the entire campus. Please contact one of the individuals listed below. We want to help.
The Concerning or Threatening Behavior Form may be used if you see something irregular or suspicious on campus. This form can be used to report any threatening behavior regardless of whether the person exhibiting the behavior is an employee or a student of GCSC. The form has several areas to be completed including your personal contact information for follow up and clarification, although it is not required to file the report. However, the more information you enter, the better we can assist you in solving the issue.
Things to keep in mind:
Not all GCSC employees are trained to handle or equipped with the necessary resources to assist in solving your issue, but they can certainly point you in the right direction. As such, please feel free to speak with an employee if you’re experiencing any difficulty and they will assist in getting you to the right place for the assistance you need.
