To comprehensively prepare dental hygiene graduates who possess the knowledge, values,
ethics, and skills to provide optimal dental hygiene care through demonstrated competence
as defined by the “Florida Department of Education Student Performance Standards.”
To promote self-evaluation and assessment of individual clinical performance.
To prepare students for licensure in the field of dental hygiene.
To prepare students for certification in the Florida Expanded Functions.
To meet the job market requirements of the community and the employment needs of the
students.
To provide counseling and encouragement for students to continue their education through
lifelong learning.
